Stony MAn Summit Trail

Twice a year, in the fall and in the spring, sometimes in the winter, we go hike in the Shenandoah National Park. Though the kids are initially reluctant to go, and do complain before and after the hike, in the end, once on top or back at home, they only have a good time and keep good memories of our spiritual happiness. I think I am the happiest walking in the forest, reaching a viewpoint, and setting up for a picnic.

Up Hill

We make several stops up hill. It is often the occasion for me to get a smile and take a picture. Here the ferns are wonderfully green and vibrant and remind me of the ferns around my childhood home. It is this very first wooden area where I played as a child that I reunite with the magical ferns, walking up the Stony Man Trailhead.
